Almost every serious AI deployment now comes with a reassurance: there is a human in the loop. AI Centaurs asks whether that human is still a real check, or has quietly become a rubber stamp.
The series builds on EDGE, a way of measuring human and AI teams with three plain questions. Does the human still add judgment the machine lacks? Can an ordinary operator wield the pairing, or only an expert? And does the advantage compound over time, or quietly decay?
